Interactive Art Project with Processing and Leap Motion
This project is an interactive art experience created using Processing and Leap Motion technology. Special thanks to my professor Josephine Leong.
Unlike my first Processing-based projects that rely on drawing vector shapes and images directly in code, this project allowed for pre-designed assets to be exported as images and integrated into the code. After the design, I wrote the code to make everything works as designed.

Switch Scenes
The interactive piece features three unique scenes, where players can use hand gestures to engage with festive settings:
Sweet Rice Dumpling Scene:
A boy enjoys sweet rice dumplings, and players use pinch gestures to grab dumplings and feed into the boy’s mouth. Multiple players can compete to see who can help him finish the dumplings the fastest.
Lantern Exhibition Scene:
This scene recreates a traditional lantern festival, with a boy holding a lantern in a bustling crowd. Players can:
- Disturb the lanterns to make them move faster.
- Pinch to reveal riddle answers.
- Move their hand up or down to make the boy squat or jump. The background crowd moves dynamically, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Water Lantern Scene:
Set by a river with two traditional towers on the shore, players can:
- Move their hands to play hang drum music and change the towers' colors.
- Pinch to grab and move floating water lanterns.
- Pinch the house to return to the first scene.
This project blends coding, digital art, and interactivity, leveraging Processing and Leap Motion to immerse players in a playful and culturally rich experience.
